Overwhelming smell

SOME BARBADIANS are being forced to improvise as the current problems at the Sanitation Service Authority (SSA) continue.

One of them was John Harding of Odessa McClean Drive, My Lord’s Hill, St Michael, who had taken to hanging his bags of refuse from his gate.

“On a night you can see a thousand rats running ’bout here so you got to keep the garbage off the ground but you can see the rats climbing the walls to get at the garbage,” he said.

Harding said it had been around three weeks since they had seen an SSA crew and called for Government to get the area cleaned up, whether or not they used SSA workers.
