BARBADIANS were introduced to a different type of music for this year’s Crop Over festivities in the form of a fusion-styled music, called bacchanal, which mixes soca, African and Latin rhythms.
Anderson Calderon and Matthew Rock, who have been in the music industry for about three years have formed PSMG (Pine Slum Music Group) to make sure the public is fully intuned with the new sound. The song was written by Andi Thornhill and produced by Jimmy Haynes.
Jimmy Haynes won Barbados’ first Grammy Award back in 1985 for the work he did as producer in the Steel Pulse band. He was a great influence on the guys. They considered it an honour to work with both Thornhill and Haynes.
