AG OK with police probes

ATTORNEY GENERALl Adriel Brathwaite has no problem with police investigating police and he has given his vote of confidence to the members of the constabulary working within the Police Office of Professional Responsibility.

“We do not have a history of things being swept under the carpet because police officers are investigated by other police officers. It gives me no pleasure to say that, because we should all be concerned when police officers are indulging in criminal activity,” Brathwaite said on Tuesday during debate of a Resolution to borrow money to provide various facilities for the Royal Barbados Police Force.

“When I hear comments that police officers are being partial to other police officers, Barbados is one of the few places that I see, and maybe too often, police officers being brought before the court in handcuffs by other police officers,” Brathwaite stated.
