NEITHER MINISTER OF EDUCATION Ronald Jones nor the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) registrar Glenroy Cumberbatch is dealing with the issue of teachers being paid for marking school-based assessments (SBA).
The issue is one the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU) is advocating strongly, to the point where some of their members refused to mark any SBAs last year and the union said members would continue that stand this year as well.
After the official release of the May/June 2015 CXC results yesterday at CXC headquarters, Jones said he was more interested in going forward in the interest of the island’s students.
