THE BUGS THAT INFESTED the Fairchild Street Bus Terminal just weeks ago may now taken up new residences – in the beds of commuters.
Last June the Transport Board announced that there was a bug infestation in the terminal and the Ministry of Health removed the infested benches.
Commuters indicated that since 2014 they were being bitten by bugs they believed to be “chiggers” or “chinks” but that was never confirmed by the board which referred to the infestation as from insects.
But a St George woman has now discovered the bugs in her home after developing a rash back in June.
The woman, who prefers to go by the name Melrose, said that in June she discovered the rash and attended the doctor who diagnosed her with an allergic reaction. The prescribed medication was successful in clearing up her skin including the wales.
