FLOW BARBADOS has announced the appointment of Marilyn Sealy to the role of director of communications.

Sealy will be responsible for leading the corporate communications portfolio of the company, including the internal and external corporate reputation. In addition, she will also develop, maintain and enhance key stakeholder relationships in the public and private sector.

In welcoming Sealy to the new company, Niall Sheehy, managing director of Flow Barbados, noted: “Marilyn has demonstrated during her time with Cable & Wireless Barbados an extensive communication-based skill set and she will undoubtedly be a great asset to our team.

“She also has a keen understanding of the local and regional communications landscape and brings with her a wealth of experience, first as a journalist in the broadcast and print sectors, then as a public relations and communications practitioner. I am pleased to officially welcome her to Flow Barbados and already she has made a tremendous impact.”

Sealy previously served as corporate communications and PR manager for LIME Barbados. She joins the Flow team with more than a decade of experience in the field of public relations and corporate communications, having worked in the media in Barbados as well as in the private and public sectors.

Sealy holds a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada, and a Master’s in communication for social and behaviour change from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.

Sealy is the newly-elected president of the International Association of Business Communicators (Barbados Chapter) and also serves as deputy chairman of the board of the National HIV/AIDS Commission. (PR)
