FLYING FISH & COU COU: Pressed the wrong button!

OH NO. That’s a very appropriate reaction to the behaviour of a low-level employee with high-ranking friends who is now an embarrassment to all, perhaps with the exception of his sponsors.

A man in a land far away has been causing an uproar by the misuse of social media.

Nonsense, you may say. But not to many who are aware of what’s been happening in the fatherland.

This man, who knows the highways and side streets like the back of his hand, is known to ignore orders with no regard for consequences, since apparently there can be none, at least not very serious ones.

Having little defence on the issue of the social media violation, the only response offered was, “pressed the wrong button”, since it was not intended for the dear lady.

Well, the situation is now making the rounds all around about the bungling in Bridgetown and how they are making “laughin’ sport” at all those in the fatherland.

Some playwrights are looking at a script on the situation to provide some comic relief when outside gets cold by December.

But the playwrights may need to hold awhile as the comic relief continues. This man, who knows the town, has decided that since he has some free time on his hands, with all benefits intact, he might as well use his time beneficially. So he has got another job, to the amusement of those who continue to work diligently to keep the flag flying at a time when things real tight.

Surely, this outrageous behaviour must be brought to an end, big shot friends or not. Not too sure, mate.

Bull in a china shop

THE BIG JOKE all over the place for the past week is about the Pouting Princess and a guest she invited to her house. This guest who, rather than give thanks for the invitation and make it known how grateful she was to be over for tea and biscuits, opened her mouth and it was evident she had drunk a red bull. She talked things relevant and things irrelevant, she cussed the silent one and the pretty-faced girl, and berated all and sundry.

Some members of the inner sanctum were left with mouths opened and clearly embarrassed by what had taken place. Clearly, this bull-in-a-china-shop behaviour was subsequently deemed unacceptable. So much so, it seems to have left the Pouting Princess so dazed that she did not address her subjects in the glare of the cameras, recorders, and with all the scribes in attendance.

Mingling with the crowds

PEOPLE ARE TALKING about how serious the campaign for higher office has become as some people are going far and wide to ensure their message and presence are seen and heard. Such was the case recently when the most engaging community event was held in what some refer to as the 31st constituency.

Even though there are no casting rights there, it is an important destination for all who seek to sit on the throne by the Esplanade. So people were surprised, even though not shocked, to see from a woman in white to all kinds of advisers mingling with the crowds and saying hello and wuh going on to all and sundry. It was one big party with no real differentiation.

Reports are that the people were happy to see and talk to the woman in white and wondered whether the silent one, a real limer when he’s ready, would ever consider this kind of outreach.

Set for a serious big pick

WELL, IT SEEMS as if a short man who has a real charming personality is all set for a big pick. This man, who has not allowed his big and lofty position to cause him to lose his humility, will join the team of final decision-makers on serious matters, some of which may include life and death issues.

He is a good example of rising from poverty and showing that no matter where you get your secondary education, you can rise to the top. But then again, he is from a mango tribe known for lifting above their weight.
