AFTER CLAIMING a taste of victory over the Central Bank, the Barbados Workers’ Union general secretary (BWU) insisted that standard procedure be followed.
Toni Moore spoke moments after she was handed written confirmation that the bank had withdrawn an intern’s controversial letter of employment.
The letter was delivered to Moore by secretary to the bank’s board Elson Gaskin just after 10 a.m. outside its Church Village offices yesterday.
This brought the fifth day of protest to an early end. Cheers came from scores of smiling employees who picked up their chairs and returned to their work stations shortly after the letter was read.
