LOCAL YOUTH with business ideas in mind are taking part in a five day workshop designed to turn their ideas into reality.

The Business Lab on Intellectual Property and Product Branding for Creative Industries began this morning in UN House, Marine Gardens, Christ Church with around 20 people aged 25 to 30. Programme officer with the Youth Americas Business Trust, José Clautier said the workshop was both for entrepreneurs and trainers, where the latter could spread the information to others.

“[This] workshop seeks to provide tools and methodologies in order to accelerate the consolidation of business ideas. [It] will train young entrepreneurs and potential trainers alike in order to generate viable and creative ideas to develop new businesses,” he said.

The participants were also addressed by Organisation of American States representative Francis McBarnette; Israeli ambassador to the Caribbean, Mordehai Amihai-Bivas; executive director of the Compete Caribbean programme of the Inter-American Development Bank, Dr Sylvia Dohnert and branding expert with the Mount Carmel International Training Centre, Sharon Gesthalter.
