Internationals spring surprise

THE LARGE gathering of Gullyside supporters were left stunned after their team slumped to a 3-1 defeat against Internationals in the Kick A Ball To Save A Life Sunrise Football Tournament final at the Boscobel playing field in St Peter last Friday night.

Gullyside, the defending champions and favourites to once again claim the title, never got into the game in the second half and were washed away in an entertaining encounter.

Stout defending, coupled with some brilliant saves by both goalkeepers kept the game goalless in the first half. However, five minutes into the second half, Jermaine Boyce opened the scoring for Internationals with a well-timed shot from the left flank that eluded Gullyside custodian Jamar Smith.

Quickly after, Smith executed the save of the match when he tipped a rocket from former Barbados player Jamar Watson over the bar.
