URUGUAY HAVE ONE foot out the door of Group I.
Barbados took the critical lead in their relegation Davis Cup tie against the visitors after winning today’s doubles rubber in straight sets at the National Tennis Centre.
Initially slowed by a couple rain delays, hometown heroes Darian King and Haydn Lewis still strolled to a 6-2, 6-2, 6-2 victory over Rodrigo Arus and Santiago Maresca to give the hosts a 2-1 lead heading into tomorrow’s reverse singles.
The loser of this tie will be demoted to Group II next year. (JM)
