CHILDREN OF THE Reynold Weekes Primary School were today encouraged to be of service to their country by the Head of State.
On yet another school visit, Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave urged them to give of their best like the politician after whom their school is named.
“Your marks can be improved in mathematics and English. Teachers and students you must make a determined effort to lift the standard and so honour the late Reynold Weekes who made a substantial contribution to this parish,” Sir Elliott remarked to those at the Four Roads, St Philip School.
Prior to his address, Sir Elliott was entertained by the school’s choir, dramatists and the dance group, who performed the rhythmic piece, Let’s Celebrate. The dance was centred around African-Caribbean movements derived from vendors in a marketplace. (MR)
