LOCAL ATHLETICS is leaving nothing to chance.
The Athletics Association of Barbados (AAB) has already started preparations for next year’s CARIFTA Games in Grenada, having invited more than 100 athletes to be part of the programme as the association looks to get a jump-start with early training.
Officials met with the athletes and their parents at Harrison College on Thursday to bring them up to date on their plans.
And to prove the seriousness of its intentions, the AAB will be having a three-hour fitness session at the National Stadium today starting from 9 a.m.
First vice-president of the AAB, Noel Lynch, said the junior programme is the platform for Barbados to be successful at all levels and not just CARIFTA. (AT)
