ABOUT FIFTY STUDENTS from the Parkinson Memorial Secondary School and the Christ Church Foundation School joined the team from the Caribbean Policy Development Centre and the Caribbean Youth Environment Network (CYEN) to clean up Long Beach, Christ Church this morning.

Regional chairperson for the CYEN Jamilla Sealy said it was part of their Action/2015 Caribbean Campaign.

“By cleaning up this waste, we are preventing several issues for ourselves such as reduced mosquito presence, Dengue Fever and Chikungunya, death of wildlife by entanglement and ingesting plastics, injury to people who use the beach.

We are also making it better for fishermen and tourism,” Sealy said. (LK)
