A CALL has been made for a Caribbean Karting Championship to be formed.
It came from Barbados Karting Association’s (BKA) chairman Stephen Mayers during his address at the annual awards ceremony of the Frutee/Chefette Championship at Bushy Park on December 12.
“Karting has certainly grown this year with the arrival of the Easy Kart Series and Easy Kart Barbados must be commended for putting together a package that makes it easier for competitors to run and maintain their karts,” Mayers told the audience of past and present drivers, sponsors and helpers of the association.
He said he was pleased with the high number of competitors in the 60cc Class, which also included two Trinidadians, and that the 15 juniors who started this year was a record for the club.
