Sirius Black conquers

THE COMBINATION of owner Sir David Seale, trainer Liz Deane and jockey Anderson Trotman got the 110th anniversary of the Barbados Turf Club 2016 racing season off in a blaze of glory, registering three wins in brilliant sunshine yesterday at the Garrison Savannah.

However, the country’s best horse Sirius Black trained by three-time champion trainer Victor Cheeseman, held centre stage as the gelding ground his four rivals into the ground to take the feature $62 000 purse in the Ronald And Richard Stoute Stakes And Trophy over 2 000 metres.

Under the brilliance of jockey Kyle Carter, the David Bynoe-owned Sirius Black led the race from the beginning in the event for Barbados-bred four-year-old and over horses.
