Attack on Zika

IT WAS a community effort by hotels in St Lawrence, Christ Church, yesterday when they united to rid the area of the mosquito that carries the Zika virus.

The staff from a number of properties donned their gloves and took to the main street and by-ways in an effort to remove garbage and any items likely to be a breeding ground for the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.

Operations manager of Ocean Two, Paul Collymore, said the initiative was the idea of the hotel’s environment committee and would include education and training.

“The idea is to reach out to the community and assist in the eradication of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.”
