HIV/AIDS Food Bank gets a boost

MORE PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV/AIDS can now benefit from a donation made to the HIV/AIDS Food Bank totalling to more than $2 000.

Today the items were handed over at the office of the Ministry of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment and Community Development at the Warrens Office Complex.

The food bank received a $1 000 cheque donated by the Barbados Public Workers Cooperative Credit Union and just over $1 000 worth of food items from the Community Development Department.

Manager of the food bank Stacia Whittaker said people living with the disease are a part of everyone’s life as they are in the workplace, the church and families. She also thanked the two entities for their contributions.  (TG)
