THE CAVE HILL Campus of the University of the West Indies is joining with the Government of Barbados in celebrating the island’s 50th anniversary of Independence. The campus rolled out its 12-month programme at a media conference on Thursday.
Campus registrar, Kenneth Walters, noted the university was ensuring that it celebrated “in a significant way” the country’s milestone.
“The programme that has been established for Barbados’ celebration is even bigger than the one we had for own celebrations,” he said admitting that the launch was “a little late”.
“The programme we are launching is a very multi-faceted one. We have programmes being done by every faculty,” he said.
“We are looking forward to ensuring that this programme is fully implemented and the campus makes a significant impact on the whole quality of celebrations of our 50th anniversary of Independence,” he told the audience which included faculty heads and faculty members. (HLE)
