Three take witness stand

THREE WITNESSES took the stand on Monday when the preliminary inquiry into the case against police constable Everton Gittens continued in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court.

Gittens, of Dash Gap, Bank Hall, St Michael, is charged with the March 15, 2015 murder of Selwyn “Blues” Knight.

He is also charged with wounding Knight’s son Junior Knight with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him as well as recklessly engaging in conduct which placed Junior in danger of death or serious bodily harm.

The matter, which is being heard before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant, will continue on May 12.

Angella Mitchell-Gittens is representing the accused, while Inspector Eustace Ifill is prosecuting. (TKS)
