PETER ALKINS of Carlton and A1 Braves and Denisha Boyce of Almond Catering Evergreen are the winners of the National Dominoes Association’s Slam-A-Dom King and Queen Tournament, which attracted 81 men and 33 women.

Alkins chalked up 15 points to beat Shurland Bovell (13) and David Brancker (ten) to reach Friday’s final where he emerged champion in a battle with Decourtney Estwick of Vita Malt Weasels and his Braves teammate Ralph Bailey.

Appearing in his first final, Alkins seemed somewhat overwhelmed by the occasion but settled down to pull off a narrow victory. Bailey also got 15 points but Alkins won because he won two sixes to Bailey’s one. Estwick was last on ten points.

Defending king Barton Hinds was ousted in the quarter-finals. (EZS)
