MELISSA WENT entered Ruff “N” Tuff boutique yesterday afternoon to eat her lunch, just as she was accustomed.
This time, however, it proved to be her last meal.
The 34-year-old former babysitter, hairdresser and mother of five, collapsed and died just after 1 p.m. while having lunch with friends in the popular Roebuck Street, Bridgetown boutique, sending shoppers scampering and leaving employees in a state of shock.
According to an eyewitness, Went, of Scarborough, Christ Church, and popularly known as “Dappa Katt”, took her last breath just as an ambulance arrived.
The store’s owner quickly closed its doors to the public as news spread of the sudden death, with a large crowd gathered outside. (RB)
