THE AUDITOR GENERAL’S REPORT clearly shows a flagrant disregard for the public’s purse.
That was the opinion of retired permanent secretary in the Ministry of Finance, William Layne, as he commented on the recently-released Auditor General’s 2016 Report.
The report highlighted several discrepancies in the use of public funds and failure to follow financial and accounting rules in several Government departments.
Layne joined a panel that included former president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados, David Simpson, and former minister in the Owen Arthur administration, Glyne Murray, on Voice of Barbados’ radio call-in programme Sunday Brasstacks to discuss the report. (GE)
