Outsiders blamed

PEOPLE FROM OUTSIDE of the Brittons Hill community are giving the area a bad name.

That is the cry from some residents of the St Michael district. They have insisted that the recent crimes committed within the community have come at the hands of “outsiders”.

Exactly one week ago, 25-year-old Kadeem Dario Joseph of 2nd Avenue, Grazettes, St Michael, was found riddled with gunshots in the area of the Valery playing field.

The discovery of his body followed a shooting just a stone’s throw away in Forde’s Road hours earlier, which left one man nursing a gunshot wound to his foot.

Speaking to the WEEKEND NATION during a police walk-through yesterday afternoon, one man maintained it was persons from outside of the community who were causing the trouble. (RB)
