POLICE OFFICERS will soon be posted in the River van stand, said Minister of Transport Michael Lashley.
The minister explained that specific steps were being implemented to curb the chaos that takes place there at certain times.
The problems occur primarily after police officers or ministry officials leave the stand, as some public service vehicle (PSV) operators clog the exit while vying for passengers.
In many cases, conductors physically block the path of commuters in an attempt to steer them away from entering other vans and into their own, much to the annoyance of the would-be passengers. (CA)
