DEAR CHRISTINE, I am 28 years old and in love with a guy who is five years younger than I am. We have been together for five years and we have a son who is two years old.
At first everything was going alright with us, but after the baby came along he started going out with a particular woman. Whenever she wanted to know where he was, she could call me to find out. I told him about her but he did nothing about it and the calls still continued. I just do not know what is wrong with this fellow.
He is now going around with three girls. One of them he says is his girlfriend. He still comes at me and says he cares for me and his son very much.
He gives me what I want and if there is anything I want done, he does it for me. However, he has a habit of going out and coming back to me late.
Christine, I am a very quiet person and don’t like noise. I tried talking to him to find out what is my position but he just ignores me. I love him very much but I don’t like the position I am in. I am afraid he may leave me for one of those girls who are all younger than I am.
It seems as if he isafraid of making up his own mind about which one of us he wants. I cook and wash for him sometimes. Please tell me what to do.

Dear P,
There are some factors you have to take into consideration. I do not believe the failure in your present situation is that you are too old, but that he is too young. There are very few young men of 22 who are prepared to settle down with any one woman.
I feel he would like to keep all his women friends and you’ll have to make up your mind as to whether you enjoy such a situation or free yourself so that you can start afresh to find someone older and more settled in their love life.
You have some decisions to make and some facts to face up to. In your decision-making, please put the child at the top of your priorities.
– CHRISTINE
