STOP MEDDLING!

That’s the advice from former president of the Barbados Bar Association, Andrew Pilgrim, QC, to Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite.

On Wednesday, while addressing the Barbados Police Association’s annual general meeting, Brathwaite said he found it strange that murder accused Andre “Lord Evil” Jackman could be granted bail, but the same could not be afforded Police Constable Everton Gittens, who has been charged with the shooting death of Selwyn “Blues” Knight.

Pilgrim, whose law firm represents the Knight family, is far from happy with Brathwaite’s public say on the matter.

“It shows he is prepared to meddle in what is going on in the courts in this country. That is extremely unfortunate, especially against a background where the Prime Minister a few weeks ago said he was hit for six to learn that people could get bail for murder in this country,” a perturbed Pilgrim told the WEEKEND NATION.
