INVESTIGATIONS ARE CONTINUING into the shooting of a police officer early Saturday morning at Melrose, St Thomas.
According to a police media release, the officer was shot by an unknown assailant.
Police officers, including some from the Criminal Investigations Division to which the lawman is attached, had responded to a report in the area when they were fired upon.
The Detective was shot in the left shoulder. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by colleagues, where he was detained.Â
