AN ELDERLY BUSINESSMAN whose brother and an in-law were killed in a violent home invasion, is appealing to court and police officials to be more compassionate and alert the victim’s relatives when trials or sentencing aretaking place.
Eighty-two-year-old Charles Chaderton, of Salters, St George, was dealt a double blow back on August 2, 2011 when two gunmen shot his 79-year-old brother Arthur Chaderton and Arthur’s son-in-law, Austrian-born Gerhard Stock, who was visiting at the time.Â
Five years after the deaths and with one man yet to be sentenced, Chaderton said he was very much hurt by the way he and other relatives were treated, finding out by the way that the trials were starting and not being notified when one of the men was returning for sentencing.
