McDowall acknowledged, after hearing the decision of the Employment Rights Tribunal yesterday, that it was a win for the NUPW because the people who were dismissed in 2014 could now have some kind of justice.
He explained that most of the workers would have been experiencing some hardships because they would have been without money for a long time.
However, speaking from a personal point of view, he said that since the union bargained for the workers to be either “reinstated or re-engaged”, he did not like that they were just compensated. (NM)
