Usain Bolt will attempt to achieve tonight what no other man has ever done.
The Jamaican track star will try to win a third successive gold medal in the men’s 100 metres at the Olympics.
Bolt cruised to victory in the heats in Rio yesterday without breaking a sweat ahead of today’s semi-finals at 8 p.m. and the final at 9:25 p.m.
Running out of lane six, Bolt failed to get the start he wanted but still easily carved through the field to take the line first.
“It wasn’t the best start. I felt kind of slow. I’m not used to running this early at any championship,” he said. “Hopefully tomorrow (today) I’ll come out and I’ll feel much better, much smoother.” (HG)
