This is the initial assessment from the trust’s executive director, Cherice Gibson, who was speaking just over a month before scores of volunteers don their gloves and remove tonnes of illegally dumped garbage and waste from the island’s gullies, roadways and beaches.
The annual Clean Up Barbados is scheduled for the third Saturday in September and Gibson told the DAILY NATION the trust had already been receiving word about garbage hotspots.
Those areas include Browne’s Beach in St Michael, a spot popular with locals and tourists, as well as the east coast stretch. (HLE)
