Runner off to US university

The 19-year-old former Christ Church Foundation student is now in the United States on a full five-year athletics scholarship at Wayland Baptist University.

Williams told NATION SPORT in an interview before she left Barbados on Tuesday that securing a scholarship is a fulfilment of her dream.

“I am very excited. When I realised that you can actually get a scholarship in athletics, I started to get focused and put in the necessary hard work in and outside the classroom to achieve it,” she said. (ES)
