Bajan Gems roll over St Kitts-Nevis

BARBADOS’ UNDER-21 netballers can begin googling their African ancestry.

That’s because it would take a catastrophe for the Bajan Gems to fail to make the AFNA Youth World Cup finals in Botswana next year.

Yesterday the Gems dazzled to their third win in a row, dismissing St Kitts-Nevis 56-20 with some awesome team work which highlighted the shooting and defence prowess of the girls.

While robust Shonica Wharton threatened to set off the fire alarm in the building as she constantly set ablaze the net with 31 goals from 34 attempts, it was her sister Shanice Wharton who choked the attack out of the opponents with stifling defence at the other end of the court.
