KRAIGG BRATHWAITE has played for West Indies for five years but has never appeared in a One-Day International. That could be about to change.
The 23-year-old Barbadian, who has 31 Tests under his belt, has been named in a 15-man West Indies squad to face Pakistan in three One-Day Internationals in the United Arab Emirates starting later this month.
While Brathwaite, a solid right-hander known to bat for long periods, has not been typically viewed as a player suited to the shorter forms of the game, he has a satisfying average of 40.72 in 23 List A matches.
Apart from Brathwaite, the only other player without an ODI to his name is 19-year-old Antiguan fast bowler Alzarri Joseph, who made his Test debut in the recent home series against India. (HG)
