Man still waiting for $200 000

ALMOST A YEAR after being awarded over $200 000 in damages by a High Court judge, Vernon Marshall is still waiting for insurance company Harmony General to pay up.

And with his medical bills piling up, both the 65-year-old unemployed man’s patience and pockets are running thin.

Tragedy struck for Marshall five years ago when he was severely injured after falling off scaffolding while working with Abacus Builders Inc.

Marshall, a carpenter and mason, broke his right leg in three places. He underwent surgery and had steel implanted in his foot. (RB)
