FOND MEMORIES of Crop Over 2016 were relived last Sunday night at Hilton Barbados when the National Cultural Foundation staged its annual awards ceremony and reception.
The final curtain came down on the festival with a video presentation was shown recapping moments from all of the NCF-staged events. The specially invited guests were also treated to live performances from the reigning monarchs.Â
The two junior monarchs Summa Sargeant (Go Away Recession) and Chad De MC Montplaisir (Outta Love) along with Queen Aziza (One People One Nation), Lil Rick (Iz a Bajan) and Edwin (Home Sweet Home) performed their winning songs during a reception held after the ceremony.
An addition to the line-up was veteran Grynner – who was earlier given an award for his 48 years of service to the entertainment industry. He sang his 2016 hit Turn On De Speaker much to everyone’s delight.Â
Accolades were bestowed on those who contributed to the season’s success. Prizes included: flights on board JetBlue; BIMAP management diploma courses worth over $5 000, staycations at Divi Southwinds, free subscription to Nation Publishing products; gift certificates from Henrietta’s Closet and vouchers for Harrison’s Cave.
