Sea eggs ready

FISHERMEN ACROSS BARBADOS are preparing for the sea egg season, which gets under way on Saturday.

The London Bar in Silver Sands, Christ Church, was the usual hive of activity yesterday – but with a distinct purpose.

Grounded by the effects of the tropical disturbance, which was upgraded to Tropical Storm Matthew yesterday afternoon, several men from the fishing village made the proverbial hay while the dull sun shone.

Well-known district personalities like “Cougar” and Steven Bourne were busy fashioning the swabble jack to make the hooks for the nets they will be using for the month-long season. (YB)
