More water troubles

BARBADOS’ WATER PROBLEMS are getting worse and the number of angry consumers is rising rapidly.

From St Joseph to St Thomas, St James, St Andrew and St Peter, frustrated residents have been bombarding the NATION newsroom with calls for the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) to respond to sustained water outages and the absence of water tankers in their communities. farmer-charles-sandiford2 

In some cases, residents claimed to be without the precious resource for more than a week, and others reported the lack of running water for almost a month.

Minister of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries, and Water Resource Management, Dr David Estwick is expected to address what is developing into a major national and political issue on Friday when he stages his second press conference on the water troubles, at his Graeme Hall, Christ Church office. (GE)
