APPARENTLY the Hero Caribbean Premier League has been a big hit for Barbados this season.

Like a near US$16 million hit.

The organisers of the region’s richest cricket tournament are saying Barbados is reaping the rewards from the popular T20 competition, having reported that this year’s event pumped US$15 878 628 into the country.

Assessment Those figures were released yesterday via press release after the Hero CPL commissioned SMG Insight/YouGov to conduct an economic impact assessment (EIA) of the tournament across the region.

According to the release, Barbados recorded the second highest economic benefit of the countries that staged CPL matches, seeing a 22 per cent increase of tournament revenue over last year. (JM/PR)
