BRIAN TALMA has described 2016 as one of his best years ever.

Though placing 41st at the end of the Pro American Wind Surfing Tour Aloha Classic, the Olympic windsurfer felt it was a great accomplishment just to qualify for the competition in the Elite Pro Division.

After competing in the American Windsurfing Tour pro division last month he advanced to that event, where he competed among the 32 best in the world after being on a 12-year break from competing professionally in the wind surfing world.

“I was on the tour for 15 years and I was one of the top. My highest rank was like ninth in the world. As you know at my age to qualify back onto the world stage in Hawaii, which is the biggest venue, was a big achievement,” said Talma. (RG)
