ONE WEEK AFTER his complaints were publicly aired, Emerson Taitt’s concerns still have not been addressed.
Taitt, of Berbice No. 1, St James, discovered a pool of blood in his yard that he said originated from a backyard slaughter house located on a hill above his home.
Yesterday, he said nobody had come to his aid after he made complaints to the Branford Taitt Polyclinic in Black Rock, St Michael, on numerous occasions. He said promises were made that an official would contact him but no one did, despite having his numbers.
Taitt said the problem had abated though he felt the pigs were still there.
When contacted, deputy chief environmental health officer in the Ministry of Health, Francina Bascombe, said she would follow up with officials at the polyclinic to get to the bottom of the matter. (JJS)
