CASTRIES – St. Lucia has recorded its ninth murder in the first 14 days of this year, after a man was shot by masked gunmen in Gros Islet early Saturday.

Police said that Kegan Rosemond was shot and killed at a bar in Bois D’ Orange, north of here.

The murder follows last weekend’s killing spree when at least five people were murdered here.

The killings have led to a march for peace scheduled for Sunday in the communities of Bois D’Inde and Jacmel, north east of here.

Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister with Responsibility for Tourism, Information and Broadcasting, Dominic Francis Fedee, is expected to address the march that is expected to be attended by other government officials, community leaders and other groups.

The organisers have asked the public to wear white. The march will be held under the theme “Zero tolerance for crime: put on love”. (CMC)
