Comissiong weighing Hyatt matter

A LEGAL CHALLENGE may still be on the cards should Prime Minister Freundel Stuart give the green light for the construction of the Downtown Hyatt Hotel.

In fact, said social activist and attorney, David Comissiong, he will be carefully weighing and examining the options this weekend in light of the Prime Minister’s statement on Wednesday that he (the Prime Minister), in the next few days, expects “to be in a position to give planning permission for the Downtown Hyatt project by which time all outstanding preconditions would have been met”.

Comissiong told the WEEKEND NATION yesterday, “My initial sense is that the law requires an environmental impact assessment to be done and that integral to any environmental impact assessment is public consultation. That’s my sense of it. . .  (HLE)
