HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL issues are plaguing employees of several Government agencies.

Investigations by the WEEKEND NATION revealed that staff at the Ministry of Tourism, the Government Information Service (GIS) and the Barbados Ambulance Service have either been moved or are in the process of being relocated because of unhealthy working conditions.

While Chief Information Officer Sharon Lynch disclosed that the 46 staff members at GIS were in the process of moving to the Old Town Hall building in Cheapside, Bridgetown, as a result of termite infestation, a source inside the ambulance service told the WEEKEND NATION plans were under way to relocate them to a building in Wildey, St Michael.

Lynch said the termite problem at their current Bay Street, St Michael office had become increasingly worse. (RB)
