BARBADIANS are being encouraged to patronise the Hotel PomMarine to give hospitality students an opportunity to discover the world of work.
The hotel is the heart of the Hospitality Institute of the Barbados Community College.
Acting principal Deborah Trotman said occupancy at the hotel fluctuated throughout the year and it was a task to get it up so the students could get needed practice.
“We always need people to stay here, the reason being it is a training lab . . . and a major component is having guests in the hotel and customers in the restaurant,” she said.
