Chase, Brooks steady innings after loss of early wickets

BRIDGETOWN – Barbados Pride reached 116 for two off 31 overs in their first innings against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes at lunch on the first day of their sixth round match in the Digicel Regional Four-Day Championship at Kensington Oval here Saturday.

The not out batsmen are Roston Chase on 47 and Shamarh Brooks on 45.

They have so far featured in an unbroken stand of 97 runs for the third wicket.

Barbados Pride, who won the toss and batted, lost two early wickets with left-handed openers Omar Phillips and Anthony Alleyne falling for six and 11, respectively.

Leewards’ fast bowler Gavin Tonge has taken both wickets for 18 runs in eight impressive overs. (EZS)
