Insurers feeling impact of accidents

THE CARELESS DRIVING of Barbadians is digging deep into the pockets of insurance companies.

That is the cry of several insurance executives, amidst an alarming increase in vehicular accidents and road fatalities for the year.

Chad Calvin Butcher, 20, formerly of Waverly Cot, St George, became the 13th person to die on the nation’s roads this year after his car collided with a wall outside the National Sports Council, My Lord’s Hill, St Michael, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

There were ten road fatalities in 2016. (RB)
