Graduates ‘can grow’ into jobs

THE PRINCIPAL of the Cave Hill campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) has mounted a strong defence of graduates in the face of continued criticism about their work readiness.

In fact, she said during Tuesday evening’s Students Awards Ceremony at the campus that the debate on the issue often excluded the fact that there was still need for workplace learning.

While committing the university to playing its part in preparing students, Barriteau appealed to employers, businesses and the public sector to provide students with the opportunities to learn on the job. (WILLCOMM)
