Cave Shepherd beefs up card security

CAVE SHEPHERD & CO. Limited is ramping up security on its visa credit card to further protect against fraud.

Director of the Card Services Unit Alison Browne-Ellis said they would this month introduce a Transaction Alert Service that would send text or email messages to cardholders when cards are used at the point of sale, online or for telephone purchases.

“This feature is an additional layer of security that protects the cardholder’s family against credit card fraud,” she said, explaining that the card already has chip technology, which is an international security standard that allows cardholders to shop with greater confidence.

Browne-Ellis made the announcement yesterday during the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Barbados Institute of Management and Productivity (BIMAP) that paves the way for educational financing of students and alumni of the Wildey institution through the Cave Shepherd Visa Credit Card. (WILLCOMM)
